The XML DTD or XML schema can be used to create rules for writing an XML Document

The XML DTD OR Schema contains the following rules

1.       It specifies the name of the tag to be used in the XML document

2.       It specifies the name of the attribute to be used in the XML document.

3.       XML DTD or schema the no. Of occurrences of a tag

4.       DTD/SCHEMA type of tag data or attribute values

5.       It specifies the root element of the XML document
